SPRINGFIELD, Mo--In our Bear Nation report, Missouri State kicked off spring football drills at Plaster Field Thursday.

The stadium itself is undergoing renovations while the Bears work through 15 practices and three scrimmages.

Because of construction the Maroon and White game will be at Parkview's JFK Stadium April 26th.

Coach Terry Allen is starting his ninth season at Missouri state, his Bears were 5-7 last year but won four of their last five games.

36 letterman return for Missouri State including 12 returning starters.

"A theme for us that we need to be a better football season at the beginning of the year then we've been the last couple of years," said Missouri State coach Terry Allen.  "That starts with spring practice.  Today's a helmets only day, hopefully we can last through the weather and get some things done."
