Bears Fall in Extra Innings

SPRINGFIELD, Mo--Missouri State played their second of three games against Southern Illinois Saturday.

The Bears looked to ride their momentum of an 8-3 victory in the seriees opener from Friday. MSU 2-2 in the conference heading into the game.

Top of two, Ryan Casillas up for the Saluks and he hits a solo shot to right. Southern Illinois leads 2-0.

Top of the fourth we go, Matt Hall on the mound and he gets the grounder to Dylan Becker with the nice play to end the inning. SIU still up 2-0.

Bottom of four, bases loaded for Bears Conor Smith and gets hit on the elbow. He'll walk to first and Tate Matheny comes home for the score. Bears cut the SIU lead to 2-1.

Same inning, Aaron Meyer with the pop fly to center Matt Fultz tags and scores. We are tied at 2.

Still in the fourth, another sacrifice RBI for MSU as Joey Hawkins pops out and Eric Cheray scores. Giving the Bears a 3-2 lead.

But, this one would go into extra innings, the Bears giving up five runs in the top of the eleventh. As the Salukis beat the Bears 9-5.
