Chiefs Suffer Third Pre-Season Loss

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- The Kansas City Chiefs wrapped up the preseason schedule Thursday night on the road at Lambeau Field.

After the beating Arizona in the opener, the Chiefs have lost to the Rams and the Seahawks and have not looked good.

Thursday, KC was hoping for a turnaround against The Pack.   

Chiefs go up 3-0 and in the second quarter, QB Brady Quinn tries to give the Chiefs a big lead.  He throws to the endzone, but it's picked off by Sam Shields to end the drive.

Green Bay then takes the lead, the handoff to Alex Green and he scores from two yards out; it's 7-3.

Later in the second, Graham Harrell flushed from the pocket, he his Alex Geen on the right side, he scores from 17 yards out; it's 14-3.

Then Harrell with a 12 yard touchdown pass to Jarrett Boykin makes it 21-3. 

And the Packers beat the Chiefs 24-3.

With cut downs to the 53-man roster looming, some of the Kansas City Chiefs players were looking to lock down a spot for the season. Despite their best efforts, the Chiefs fell to Green Bay 24-3 at Lambeau Field.

The fist team saw limited work Thursday night as QB Matt Cassel completed his only pass of the night for nine yards and exited the game with just over seven minutes left in the first quarter. QB Brady Quinn took over for Cassel in the first quarter. Quinn rushed for 29 yards on two carries after taking over.

K Ryan Succop booted a 26-yard field goal with 2:15 left to go in the first quarter, to put the Chiefs on the board first 3-0.

The running backs were the focus of the first quarter as Peyton Hillis had six carries for 46 yards and Jamaal Charles had three carries for 12 yards. The Chiefs offense favored the run throughout the evening as there were 24 run plays and only 14 pass plays in the first quarter.
