Chiefs Collapse in Playoff Loss

INDIANAPOLIS, In--Saturday, the Chiefs and Colts met in the AFC Wildcard game.

Opening drive Chiefs Jamaal Charles would get hurt on the play. Later in the game Chiefs would also lose Knile Davis, Donnie Avery, Brandon Flowers and Justin Houston to other injuries.

KC finding other players to step up. Alex Smith to Dwayne Bowe for the 7-0 Chiefs lead.

To start the second half, Alex Smith scrambles and finds Knile Davis for the touchdown. That puts the Chiefs up 38-10.

Momentum would drastically change after a huge defensive play for the Colts. After a touchdown the Colts get the strip sack from non other than Robert Mathis. Colts recover and are in business.

Andrew luck to Donald Brown for the 3 yard score. 38-24 Chiefs.

They don't call him Andrew Luck for nothing. Take a look at this Brown hit and the ball is loose but goes to Luck who dives in for the touchdown. Colts within four.

Under five minutes to play, Luck doing what he does best, completing comebacks. 64 yards to T.Y. Hilton over the top. The Colts with their first lead of the game 45-44.

Chiefs on 4th down, Smith gets Bowe one-on-one and he makes the catch but is out of bounds.

Chiefs haven't won a playoff game in about two decades. As the Colts come back and stun the Chiefs 45-44.

"You don't really have time to think about it during the game you just really try to steady the ship. You continue to go out there and that's kind of the name of the game in this league, next guy has to come up, step up and step in. I thought those guys did a great job for the most part," said Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith.

"Not much to say, compliments to the Colts for coming back. They did a nice job, 35 points in the second half. Instead of kicking field goals we need to score touchdowns and that would make it a different game," said Chiefs football coach Andy Reid.
