Carthage Advances To The State Semifinals

CARTHAGE, Mo--The Missouri State high school football playoffs resumed Friday for a couple of Ozark area teams. In class five, Carthage and Battle played in a quarterfinal game.

Both of these teams are 8-3.
          
Early second quarter and Zeke Sappington looks to the endzone on fourth and three, a long touchdown pass to Arkell Smith it's 7-0 Tigers.
           
It's 13-0 Carthage but Battle answers, quarterback Jaren Lewis goes to the right, comes back to the left side, and he scores at the end of the first half, it's 13-7.
           
Third quarter, Sappington hits Arkell Smith again, and watch the senior fight his way into the endzone 21-7.
            
And Carthage advances to the semifinals 28-7.

In class four, Webb City advances to the semi's 24-0.
           
And Rolla loses to Parkway Central 49-21.
