Cards Rout Drillers, Win Fourth Straight

Springfield offense continues to produce

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The Cardinals' offensive outburst continued Sunday, as the Cardinals beat the Tulsa Drillers 11-4. Springfield tied a season-high with its fourth straight victory.

Facing an early 3-1 deficit, the Cardinals rallied and retook the lead on Magneuris Sierra's 2-run single in the fourth inning. Anthony Garcia belted his third home run in two games, a three-run shot in the fifth that extended the lead to 7-3. The left fielder brought to crowd to its feet earlier in the game, robbing Tulsa lead-off man Tim Locastro of a home run on the game's first pitch.

Matt Pearce (W, 6-5) settled in after early struggles, finishing six innings and earning the victory.

Springfield (35-34) continues its homestand all week leading up to the Texas League All-Star break.Monday's game will begin at 6:30 pm.
