SPRINGFIELD, Mo--The Springfield Cardinals hosted Midland for game two at Hammons field Saturday evening.

The Cards dropped Friday night's game by a score of 3-2.

Mike Mayers killing it on the mound early gets Dusty Koleman to strike out.

To the second Rafael Ortega, he got a hold of that one. The solo shot makes it 1-0 Cards on top.

In the third, Cards Charlie Tilson flashing the leather. The nice diving catch on Conner Crumbliss in center field.

Later in the 5th Max Muncy hits the bloop single. Crumbliss scores on the hit and ties the game at 1-1.

Same inning Jefry Marte cranks an RBI double to right center. Another run would score on a throwing error to make it 3-1.

But the Cards with a late surge and win 6-3.
