Bears Roll To 18-0 In Valley

NORMAL, Ill--The Missouri State Bears opened the final Valley regular season series Thursday night at Illinois State.

In our Bear Nation report, Missouri State rode a 17 game conference winning streak into the action.

The Bears climbed to number 12 in this week's Collegiate Baseball poll.

And Missouri State designated hitter Blake Graham rips this rocket to right, way over the boards and gone, a two run bomb it's 2-nothing Bears.

Missouri State adds to it in the third, Justin Paulsen singles to right, Hunter Steinmetz scores it's 3-nothing.

Two bases loaded walks makes it 5-nothing.

But Illinois State gets back in it, the Redbirds had the bases loaded and Joe Butler shoots the gap in left center, the ball goes to the wall,  John Rave, Collin Braithwaite and Derek Perola all score it's 5-3.

It was 7-4 in the eighth when Jake Burger singles to left, Paulsen rounds third heads for home, looks like he's going to be out, but somehow he dances around the tag, ump says safe, 8-four.

And Missouri State wins 8-5, 18-0 in the Valley.
