Along with busting some other flu shot myths, Dr. Janette says the flu shot is important for pregnant women.
"The vaccine is especially important for pregnant women," she says. "If they can get the flu, they have a higher risk of preterm labor and delivery, or even death."
Deborah Stuart, an expecting mom, says she now know the importance of the flu shot. Especially since it isn't just her life on the line.
"I never used to get the flu shot," says Stuart. "But now I get the shot each year. I want to take care of myself and my unborn child."
