VIDEO/PHOTOS: Severe Storm Causes Power Outages, Roof Blown Off, Trees Down

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The Friday severe thunderstorm took down many trees and caused power outages in the Springfield area. In addition, high winds blew off the roof on the Rapid Robert's car wash.

City utilities reports around 7,000 customers lost power during the storm and at its peak, there were about 15,000 without power. Crews are working as fast as they can to restore power. CU at 5 o'clock says they are down to 3,000 outages.

Springfield Police tweeted that most of their current force is working crashes and controlling traffic due to traffic lights being out. ozarkstraffic.com reported lots of accidents all over Springfield during the storm.
