Veteran Law Enforcement Officer Dies Unexpectedly

OZARK, Mo. -- The Ozark, Missouri police department is mourning the sudden death of one of its captains.

"It is with great sadness that we at the Ozark Police Department report the death of a veteran officer, Captain Thomas Rousset,"  Ozark police chief Lyle Hodges said in an email Tuesday morning.

The Christian County Headliner reports Capt. Rousset died at home early Tuesday morning from an apparent heart attack.

Hodges says Rousset, 49, became a member of the Ozark Police Department in 1996, and served as a Reserve Officer, Patrol Officer, Patrol Supervisor, Detective, and  most recently served as Assistant Chief of Police until his death.
