Update: Springfield Police Investigating 'Potential Homicide'

(Springfield, MO) -- Springfield police are on the scene of what they are now calling a "potential homicide" at an apartment in the 400 block of East Elm.

Police were called to the scene around 5:30 a.m., Thursday. When they arrived at the Willow Walk North apartments, they found one person, a 50 year old white male, dead in one of the apartments.

Several witnesses, including a person who lived in that apartment, have been taken to police headquarters for questioning. So far no arrests have been made. There is no word, yet, about what led to this shooting.

The identity of the victim is not being released at this time.
