UPDATE: Shields Pleads Guilty, Avoids Murder Trial

OZARK, Mo. - A second defendant accused in the 2014 homicide of a Marshfield man has pleaded guilty and is to be sentenced July 17.

Online court records show that Gabriella Shields, 29, entered a guilty plea today (April 24, 2017) in Christian County Circuit Court on a first-degree murder charge in the death of Christopher Younes, 35.

Younes was found dead in June, 2014 in the Mark Twain National Forest near Chadwick, Missouri.  He had been shot.

A jury trial was scheduled today (4/24) for Shields and co-defendant Timothy Murray, 29. Jury selection began today in the Murray case.

A third defendant, Albert Romero, pleaded guilty last week to first-degree murder and armed criminal action. He received sentences of life in prison sentence and a 10-year sentence, to be served concurrently.

Court records indicate that investigators said Shields suspected Younes was informing authorities of her drug activity, along with Romero.
