During a board of directors meeting on Wednesday, Chief Paul Williams was appointed by Board Chair Linda Ramey-Greiwe to lead the search committee to find a replacement for Kennally.
Kennally was selected to head United Way of the Ozarks in 2008 after serving as President of Mercy Regional Foundation in Joplin and as Executive Director for: the Olathe Region United Way, United Way of Johnson County, Kansas and the Greene County Unit of the American Cancer Society.
She has also served as chairman of both the Missouri and Kansas State Association of United Ways.
“This has been my dream job,” says Kennally in a statement. “The opportunity to come back to work for my hometown United Way has been a joy. Our organization is in a very good place thanks to a great board and staff. I’ll be working very hard the next six months to make sure we continue to move forward. After that, I’ll take some time off this fall and then I’m sure I’ll find a new challenge here in the community.”
