SPRINGFIELD, Mo. --  Two men in their early twenties are in custody tonight after shooting a BB gun out of their car window and hitting someone with it.

It happened near the 700 block of South Campbell Avenue around 6 p.m. Saturday evening.

Two men were walking on a sidewalk when two other men in a red sports car drove by and fired a shot at them.

One man was shot in the leg but was not injured.

Police were able to stop the suspect's vehicle at Campbell and Mill.

The two men inside that car were brought into custody.

No charges have been filed yet, but officers tell us suspect in these kinds of incidents often face assault charges.
