Two Local Girl Scouts Receive High Honors

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.--Two local Girl Scouts receive honors for heroic deeds and community engagement.

The Girl Scouts of the Missouri Heartland is honoring two local Scouts for their actions Mar. 22 at the Oasis Convention Center.

Girls Scout Cadette Hannah Whetstone has been awarded the Medal of Honor for her heroic effort to save her step-father’s life after an automobile accident.

The Medal of Honor is a national Girl Scout award that is given to a Scout that has saved another person’s life.

Girl Scout Ambassador Olivia Roland will receive a Certificate in Excellence and the President’s Volunteer Service Award.

President’s Volunteer Service Award is also a national award that recognizes American’s of all ages that volunteer a significant amount of time to serve the community.
