UPDATE (9:31 a.m.) - According to a press release from Vernon County Sheriff's Office, both inmates have been found by Sheriff's Deputies in Nevada and are now back in custody.
The investigation surrounding the escape will continue. Additional charges are expected to be filed. More information is expected to be released early Monday
NEVADA, Mo. - Two inmates have escaped according to the Vernon County Sheriff's Office.
Timothy A. McCullick (pictured below), 24, is 5'1" and weighs 145 pounds. McCullick has red hair and blue eyes. His charges were forgery.
Christopher A. Purgerson, 19, 5'10" and weighs 146 pounds. Purgerson has brown hair and blue eyes. His charges were burglary and stealing.
According to Vernon County Sheriff Jason Mosher, the two inmates escaped early Sunday morning by breaking through the metal ceiling inside of a bathroom in the jail and then crawling through an air duct. Then they kicked out the side of an air-conditioning unit located on the roof of the jail.
The Sheriff said area law enforcement were notified and deputies and investigators were called in to search for the inmates.
