Tornado Confirmed in Dent County Wednesday Night

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.-- National Weather Service meteorologists in Springfield report that an that an EF-1 tornado caused damage in northeastern Dent County Wednesday night.

The confirmed tornado touched down at 11:02 p.m.  and was located near Short Bend or about nine miles northeast of Salem.

Meteorologists estimated the winds between 90-100 mph with a path length of 2.5 miles and width of 200 yards.

Several homes sustained roof damage, trees were downed or uprooted, and a barn was also blown off its foundation 

A tornado warning had not been issued at the time.

 

No injuries were reported.
