Tornado Causes Major Damage in Goodman, Mo.

Damage to homes, school, and fire station confirmed

GOODMAN, Mo.(KODE/KSNF) --A tornado touches down Tuesday night, causing damage in Newton and McDonald Counties.  The video above was shot by our sister station, KNWA.


McDonald County Emergency Management reports tornado damage in Goodman.

That includes the grade school, fire station, an apartment building and several homes.  A search is underway to locate anyone who may be trapped.  A couple of people have reported minor injuries.  The power is out and is not expected to reconnect for a day or two.  Traffic into town has been restricted to residents only.

The roof has blown off the petting zoo at the Newton County Fair Grounds as well.

In Anderson, the storm knocked out power and the city's Mayor is asking residents to conserve water until the power returns. It is unknown when it will turn back on.
