Today: Wilson's Creek Included in National Parks Free Admission

BATTLEFIELD, Mo.-- Wilson's Creek National Battlefield will be joining other National Park sites around the country Monday,August 25, in celebrating the founding of the National Park Service with free admission.

"This is an excellent opportunity to experience the National Park Service and learn about the history of this special place," said Superintendent Hillmer.

Fee-free entrance days are as follows: 

January 20
Martin Luther King Jr. Day

February 15-17
Presidents Day weekend

April 19-20
opening weekend of National Park Week

August 25
National Park Service Birthday

September 27
National Public Lands Day

November 11
Veterans Day

Established on Aug. 25, 1916 the National Park Service cares for over 400 national park areas, which preserve our nation's natural, historical and cultural heritage.

The fee-free designation applies to entrance fees only and does not affect fees for camping, reservations, tours or use of concessions.
