Teen Shot in Laclede County Dies from Injuries

LACLEDE COUNTY, Mo.-- Riley Gerber,15, who was shot July 8 near Conway, Mo. has died, according to the Laclede County Coroner.

According to Laclede County Coroner Steve Murrell, 15-year-old Riley Gerber passed away Saturday, July 12.

Riley Gerber was shot July 8th at around 3:00 a.m. when according to Sheriff Wayne Merritt, when a man entered the house he was in. 

The gunman shot both Riley Gerber and his father Chad Gerber, fatally wounding him.

Matthew Rumbaugh, 65, of Mountain Grove has been charged with first degree murder, armed criminal action, and first degree assault in connection to the case.

Officials say the suspect had a connection to the family. 

A benefit in memory of the father ans son will take place August 23rd at 7:00 p.m. at the Real Life Church in Lebanon.
