A new survey conducted for AT&T says adult drivers are driving and texting even more than teens.

The survey, conducted by ResearchNow, says 49.1% of adult drivers admit to texting while behind the wheel compared to 43.2% of teen drivers.  And the problem is growing.  Six in 10 drivers say they never texted while driving just three years ago.

Many of those adult drivers describe their texting in the car as a "habit."

AT&T has a public relations campaign underway called "It Can Wait", to encourage drivers of all ages to stop texting behind the wheel.

And despite more public attention to the problem, 98% of the drivers in the survey say they know sending a text or email while driving isn't safe, but still do it.
