The National Weather Service issued a series of Severe Thunderstorm Warnings starting at mid afternoon and on into the evening.
The worst of the damage was reported in Howell County, where the county's emergency management director reported high winds blew a tractor trailer rig over on its side about 5 miles southeast of Willow Springs near Highway 63 and state route UU. He also reported heavy damage to the outside wall of a building, but area law enforcement had no information about what type of structure was damaged. A green house was also reportedly destroyed north of Highway 76 2 miles west of Willow Springs.
Elsewhere, storms produced hail from the size of dimes and quarters up to nearly two inches in diameter in a number of counties, including Texas, Shannon, Webster and Barry. Trees were uprooted in several counties, including 18 inch diameter trees in Howell County and damage at Roaring River State Park near Cassville.
There have been no reports of injuries.
