SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Springfield Police are investigating an early morning shooting.

It happened just before 2:30 a.m. in the 2300 Block of North Travis.

Lieutenant Stacey Parton says a 30 year-old man was shot in the leg.

He was taken to the hospital conscious and alert, and police do not believe his injuries are life-threatening.

Two suspects in the shooting were described as black males wearing all black with handkerchiefs over their faces.

Lieutenant Parton says this does not appear to be random, but the investigation is ongoing.
