Springfield Pedestrian Hit by Car Passes Away From Injuries

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.-- A pedestrian who was hit by a car in December 2017 has died from the injuries he sustained during the accident.

77-year-old Darrell Bryant passed away December 31 at 7:15 p.m. in the hospital.

According to police, the crash happened December 22 at 6:38 a.m. when a Honda Ridgeline was making a left turn into a driveway at 2220 N. Glenstone when it hit Bryant who was near the center lane of the road.

Bryant was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, the driver of the car was not injured. 

Police say that it was dark at the time of the incident and there was no crosswalk. With those factors, police say it is unclear which direction Bryant was walking. 

The investigation is ongoing.

That was the 19th fatality in Springfield from 2017.
