Springfield Man Charged in Early Morning Shooting

SPRINGFIELD, Mo - The Greene County Prosecutors Office has charged a man following a shooting that happened just after midnight Saturday morning.

21-year-old Joseph Michael Slagley of Springfield has been charged by with a class A Felony of Unlawful Use of a Weapon and the unclassified felony of Armed Criminal Action, according to a release from Greene County Prosecuting Attorney Dan Patterson.

Police were dispatched to the 500 block of East Cherry for shots fired call and discovered Misty Hill, 36, had been shot. She was transported to a hospital and has life threatening injuries. Hill's family has been notified.

According to a Springfield Police Department press release, authorities arrested Slagley this morning around 8:30 a.m.

Slagley is being held in the Greene County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
