Police spokesperson Lisa Cox tells KOLR10 News both officers were answering a call in the 1700 block of East Caravan about 10:30 Friday morning.
Someone complained about a man being at a home who didn't belong there.
When police got there, they found him sitting on a 4 foot high retaining wall. Officers say the man started to resist arrest and fell off the wall, taking one of the officers with him. The second officer jumped off the wall to help and broke his leg in the fall.
Officer Justin Thorne was taken to the hospital for his leg injury. Officer Brandon Penrose suffered a back injury and was also taken to the hospital. The suspect was taken to jail for assault on a law officer.
