BRANSON, Mo.-- In the 58 year history of Silver Dollar City, no year saw more visitors than 2017.
The theme park saw just over 2.1 million guests or 2,115,522 to be exact. That's 42,000 more people than 2016, according to a release.
Visitors to "An Old Time Christmas" also hit record numbers, surpassing 500,000 guests in the two-month period of November-December for the first time.
"Record-breaking attendance signals the growing popularity not only of Silver Dollar City but of the entire Branson area. Record numbers of families and adult couples are discovering what makes us a fun, thrilling and entertaining resort destination," said Brad Thomas, President of Silver Dollar City Attractions. “We look forward to continued significant growth with the opening of Time Traveler, along with our other exciting plans for the future."
Silver Dollar City attributes the increase to the addition of "Christmas In Midtown" attraction along with national recognition from USA Today.
