BRANSON, Mo. -- The sound of roller coasters can once again be heard echoing though the Ozark Mountains. Silver Dollar City is officially open and just on the tail end of spring break.

Officials say the park is on pace to sell a record number of season passes this year.

General Manger Brad Thomas attributes it to families wanting to get out, after being trapped indoors by the weather and the nation beginning to bounce back from the recession.

"I think Americans are just getting a little restless of hearing the word recession, and we're ready to get out,” says Thomas. “As American families, we're ready to get out and explore this great county and start having fun again."

You may see more red, white and blue than normal at the park this year, because 2014's theme is "Celebrating America."

As part of the theme, Silver Dollar City is giving away free season passes to people born or married in 1976.
