SPRINGFIELD, Mo.-- Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy at the right place at the right time, stops armed robbery in progress.

Late Saturday night, April 12 a Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy pulled into the parking lot of a Kum N Go convenience store in the area of South Glenn Ave and West Republic Road in Southwest Springfield.

The Deputy witnessed what looked like an armed robbery in progress. The Deputy attempted to arrest the suspect, a white male outside of the store where the suspect then led Deputies on a brief foot chase.

Several units were in the area and he was quickly apprehended, arrested and transported to the Greene County Jail.

The Springfield Police Department also arrived to the location due to the incident occurring within the city limits.

It is unknown at this time if this is related to an armed robbery which occurred earlier this week in Springfield. The Springfield Police Department will be conducting the investigation.

No one sustained any injuries during the incident, foot pursuit or apprehension of the suspect.
