CHRISTIAN COUNTY, Mo. -- A section of Christian County Route CC between Cheyenne Road and the entrance to Fremont Hills between Ozark and Nixa is scheduled to close the week of August 11 through the end of September.

According to MoDOT, Cheyenne Road at Route CC will be closed at the same time, but Cheyenne Road should reopen by the middle of September.

Drivers are asked to find alternate routes to get around the closings during this time.  Drivers will have access to driveways and other entrances on either side of the closings, but they will not be able to drive through the work area.

MoDOT is meeting with Nixa School District officials, emergency responders and others in the area to discuss details of the closings and ways school and emergency vehicles can get around the construction work.

The work is part of a project to eliminate the curves on Route CC between Cheyenne Road and Fremont Hills and widen the intersection of Route CC and Cheyenne Road.

When the project is complete, left turn lanes will be added to the intersection of Route CC and Cheyenne Road and a traffic signal will be installed.

Weather or construction delays could alter the work schedule.
