Search Underway at Lake of the Ozarks for Springfield Woman

OSAGE BEACH, Mo. --  Recovery efforts are underway at Lake of the Ozarks for a woman from Springfield who was seen falling or jumping from a bridge.

The Missouri Highway Patrol Water Division says witnesses saw the 20-year old woman* pull her car on the toll bridge over the lake at about the 16 mile marker, climb over the bridge railing and go into the water.  She is presumed drowned.

The Patrol's dive team and marine troopers were searching for body.  The incident happened shortly before noon Monday.

UPDATE:  11:15am Tuesday (May 6)  From Lake Ozark Police:  "Based on a note left in the vehicle, it is believed to be a suicide."
