CHRISTIAN  COUNTY, Mo. - Christian County Sheriff Joey Kyle said today that human remains found Monday near Highlandville appear to have been at the site for 10 years or longer.

That belief is based on appearance, inquiries and the condition of the remains, according to Sheriff Joe Kyle, but identification found on the body also is that of a man from Kansas City who has not been seen for more than a decade.

The sheriff’s department is trying to determine just how long the remains have been at the site near Highway 65 and Sawmill Road, and DNA sampling will be done to confirm a match, he said.

The man’s identity will be released when it is confirmed, Kyle said.
