Red Cross Responds to Help Rolla Family Displaced by Fire

ROLLA, Mo.--  The American Red Cross Heart of Missouri Chapter volunteers are assisting a Rolla family displaced by fire.

According to a press release from the American Red Cross Heart of Missouri Chapter, volunteers responded today, Mar. 23 to an apartment fire that left one family displaced.

The Red Cross received a request around 5 am to assist those impacted by the fire at an apartment building on North Olive Street in Rolla, Mo.

Two Rolla volunteers responded to the scene and met with one family of four adult women.

The Red Cross provided the family with financial assistance to meet their immediate emergency needs with the purchase of food, clothing, shoes and a temporary stay in a local partner motel.

The family also received comfort kits, which contain personal hygiene items, and referrals to local partner agencies.

Volunteers will also follow up with the family to check on their recovery.
