Police Looking for Suspect in Sunday Night Stabbing

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Springfield Police are looking for a woman who stabbed a man Sunday night.

It happened just after 6:00 p.m. in the 800 block of W Nichols. That's near Chestnut Expressway and Campbell Avenue.

SPD Lieutenant Roberts Pitts says the man was in his backyard when he was approached by the woman who became upset and stabbed him in the back. The victim was taken to the hospital with what police are calling non-life threatening injuries.

Pitts says the suspect is described as a black female, 35 to 40 years old, 5 feet 7 inches tall, with frizzy hair. She was wearing a black shirt and blue jeans.
