SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- KOLR10 stopped by Springfield’s largest historic district for the Midtown Neighborhood Association’s annual 4th of July Parade.

People packed the streets, decked in red, white, and blue, as dozens of cars, floats and walking groups from area organizations passed by.

Parade goers say the patriotic sights and sounds make them swell with pride.

“We love our country and we love taking part in any activities on the fourth…God Bless America,” Bob Johnson, a parade spectator, said.

The parade started at Drury University and ended with a celebration that included free ice cream at Washington Park.
