SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Most kids across the Ozarks had another snow day Monday and some of them enjoyed it, thanks to the Springfield-Greene County Park Board.

Because of school closures, the park board opened Chesterfield and Doling Aquatics Center with "open swim hours."

The pool is open until 9 o'clock tonight and many kids and their parents taking advantage of it, too.

They say they prefer it over sledding.

"Sledding you can only be out there a little bit, before your hands and feet start to really hurt,” says parent Ted Orcutt. “And your ears. So, the swimming, you can do this for hours and stay at it. It’s a lot of fun."

And, while meteorologists can't predict if any snow will make an appearance in the distant future, there's one thing for sure; spring is Thursday, March 20th.

And we're counting down the days!
