"One Stop Shop" for Flood Disaster Assistance Available in West Plains

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo.-- The Missouri State Emergency Management Agency has set up what the agency is calling a "one-stop shops for disaster assistance " in West Plains at a  Multi-Agency Resource Center.

The West Plains MARC is located at the West Plains Civic Center at 110 St. Louis Street from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday.

 MARCs provide trained experts who can identify resources for assistance with housing, public assistance, mental health counseling, or to help understand insurance policies and the claim filing process. Flood survivors should bring proof of address. Free child care is available.

SEMA partners in the MARCs include the American Red Cross, Missouri Department of Social Services, Missouri Department of Mental Health, Missouri Department of Insurance, Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, Catholic Charities, Society of St. Vincent DePaul, The Salvation Army, and Convoy of Hope.

SEMA and its partners are scheduling additional MARCs throughout the areas affected by flooding. SEMA and its partners will provide information on the MARC locations as it becomes available, including on the state website, mo.gov, and the Missouri Department of Public Safety Twitter and Facebook accounts.

Flood survivors are also encouraged to utilize United Way 211 to connect with vital resources they may need, such as shelters, clothing, and assistance with cleaning and sanitizing homes impacted by flooding. The service is available throughout Missouri by simply dialing 2-1-1.
