NIXA, Mo. -- On his way home from school, a trailer struck a Nixa Junior High student and sent him to the hospital.
The incident happened at 2:05 p.m. near Main and Cherry streets, as the student was walking home from school, city spokesman Drew Douglas said.
The student was trying to walk across the street and as a truck drove by, the child stepped in the street. The truck was pulling a boat trailer, which hit the student.
The truck didn't hit the student.
The student was transported with non-life threatening injuries to a hospital.
