SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The National Weather Service has confirmed an EF-0 tornado touched down in northeast Springfield Sunday evening.

According to the NWS, the weak "landspout" tornado touched down during a brief rainshower near the intersection of E. Cairo Street and S. Pickwick Avenue.

The tornado travelled east along E. Cairo Street and lifted at the intersection of E. Cairo and Glenstone Avenue.

The National Weather Service estimates wind speeds with this tornado were around 60 miles per hour.

Landspout tornadoes are not detectable by radar and typically weak in nature. This one lasted less than a minute.

The tornado, according to the NWS, damaged "multiple trees and caused minor damage to roofs." There have been no reports of injuries.
