Motorcyclist Killed in Fordland, MO

FORDLAND, Mo. -- The driver of a motorcycle was struck and killed by a second vehicle, after being knocked off his cycle from an initial accident, the Highway Patrol says.

The two incidents happened shortly before 10:30 Monday night at Highway 60 and Hummingbird Lane in Fordland.

According to Patrol reports, Amos McElroy, 50, of Fordland, pulled into the path of a car, striking the front of the car.  The impact threw McElroy off the motorcycle and he landed in the roadway.

A eastbound tractor-trailer rig then hit McElroy while he was still lying in the road.
