SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The Missouri State Bears expected to add two junior college transfers yesterday.

It was the first day of the NCAA spring signing period and Juco players can sign with four-year programs.

Camyn Boone tweeted that he was signing with the Bears in Mesa, Arizona.

Boone is a 6-foot 6-inch power forward who averaged 16.5 and nearly nine rebounds a game for Mesa Community College.

Loomis Gerring has verbally committed to the Bears and is expected to sign as well. He's 6-foot-5 and averaged nearly 14 points per game for Vincennes College.

But neither one got their letters to intent to Missouri State yet, stay tuned.

The St. Louis Cardinals were looking for a series sweep and their fifth straight victory yesterday in Milwaukee.

The Cards sending Joe Kelly to the hill against a Brewers team that St. Louis has been chasing down.

Milwaukee's Wily Peralta on the hill and throwing b-b's, he gets Daniel Descalso looking at strike three.

Scoreless in the bottom of the third, Carlos Gomez shoots the gap in right center, the ball goes to the wall, Logan Schafer scores it's 1-nothing.

Seth Maness comes in out of the bullpen, an error loads the bases and Jonathan Lucroy singles to right, Peralta and Gomez both score it's 3-nothing.

Then Aromis Rameriz follows with a single to left, Gene Segura scores it's 4-nothing.

Allen Craig popped this homer to right in the sixth, but it wasn't enough, Milwaukee snaps the Cards winning streak 5-1.

Kansas City was in Houston last night and would get on the board first, top of the second inning, and Danny Valencia takes this deep to left, into the Crawford boxes a solo shot its 1-nothing royals.

In the third, Houston’s George Springer making his major league debut and gets his first big league hit as he beats out this squibber, he's at first for Jason Castro.

Castro takes this deep to left, it's gone a two run shot and it's 2-one Houston.

It was 2-2 in the sixth when Houston’s Marc Kraus goes deep to, you guessed it left, a two run shot it's 4-2 Houston.

But KC ties it up in the seventh, Salvador Perez singles to left, Lorenzo Cain and Alcides Escobar both score it's 4-4.

That was the score in the ninth.

High school baseball yesterday, Lebanon visiting Kickapoo.

And the Yellow Jackets jump in front in the first, Dylan Bradshaw grounds this off the pitchers leg, Rocky Long scores it's 1-nothing.

Then Keaton Warren follows with this drive to left, it bounces off the fence, Bradshaw and Josh Archer both score it's 3-nothing.

But Kickapoo bounces back in the bottom of the first, it's 3-1 when Danny Crews singles to center, Logan Wiley scores it's 3-2.

It's 3-3 when Tristan Stevens singles to center, Brandon Wamsher and crews both score it's 5-3 Chiefs.

And Kickapoo doubles up the Jackets 14-7.
