Someone behind a twitter handle @HiddenCardsTix is giving clues to lead Springfield Cardinals fans to a find that will come in handy for local baseball fans this summer.
"It's a nice thing to do for whoever is doing it," says Adam Letterman. "And it's fun. Who doesn't like a scavenger hunt?"
Springfield Cardinals fans are scoring home runs thanks to an anonymous social experiment on Twitter.
"I was pretty happy," says Letterman. "My wife was jumping up and down. Free tickets to the cardinals game-- I'd go every night if I could get the tickets."
Adam Letterman and his wife Emily love to throw on their red gear and enjoy a summer night by attending a baseball game at Hammons Field.
"We try to go to about ten a year," he says.
The Twitter account @HiddenCardsTix is hiding free Springfield Cardinals tickets around town.
"We just missed getting them the first day by a few minutes," says Letterman.
Whoever is behind the Twitter handle posts clues as to where the tickets can be found.
"I've lived in Springfield my whole life and there's a sense of satisfaction you can get from seeing a picture and being like, 'I know where that is and I don't know that anyone else knows where that is as quickly as I do.'"
After striking out their first try, Letterman and his wife were able to snag four free tickets Saturday. They were found behind the Mediacom Ice Park sign.
"We were driving around and the notifications came to our phones," says Letterman. "And we were on Glenstone and recognized where it was and we were able to get here quickly."
According to the Hidden Tix Twitter account, the idea came from places doing this with hidden cash. While it may not be money these people are finding, to Springfield Cardinals fans, this is just as good.
"It's really neat," says Letterman. "It's a neat concept-- it's a fun way to get everyone involved."
And Letterman hopes this isn't the last time he and his wife turn into champions.
"The cardinals are our hometown team," he says. "And any support the city can give them is a great thing."
