SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Starting the week of March 10, drivers can expect nighttime closings on sections of Route 60 and Route 413 between Republic and Springfield as part of a resurfacing project.

According to MoDOT, the work will take place between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m., Monday through Thursday. Crews may work Friday nights as well if necessary to stay on schedule.

Here's where the work will take place:

  • Route 60/413 between Route 360 (James River Freeway) and Route 174 in Republic

  • Route 413 (West Sunshine St.) between Kansas Expressway (Route 13) in Springfield and Route 360 (James River Freeway) west of Springfield.

For the work, contractor crews will grind off the top layer of old asphalt and will resurface the driving lanes and the shoulders along both lanes.

Drivers can also expect some nighttime lane closings in areas Wednesday through Friday, March 5-7, as contractor crews install new guardrail in areas.

Drivers are urged to use caution. Workers and equipment will be on the road and bright lights will illuminate work areas.

Weather or construction delays may alter the work schedule.

The total cost of the project is expected to be $2.7 million and is planned to be completed Nov. 1, 2014.
