Mobile Home Destroyed by Fire in Phelps County

DOOLITTLE, Mo. -- Firefighters from two fire departments in Phelps County spent Sunday afternoon fighting a fire that consumed a mobile home near Doolittle.

The Doolittle Rural Fire Protection District says the fire was reported about 3:20 p.m. Sunday on County Road 8490.

Along with Doolittle firefighters, teams from the Rolla Rural Fire Protection District and Phelps County EMS went to the scene.

It took about ten minutes for firefighters to get the fire knocked down, but the home was a loss.

Several pet dogs and a parrot were rescued.  No one was injured.

The Doolittle department says the cause of the fire is not suspicious.
