Missouri State Highway Patrol First Woman Superintendent Sworn Into Office

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- Colonel Sandra K. Karsten is now the 23rd Superintendent of the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Col. Karsten was sworn in on Tuesday during a ceremony in Jefferson City.

Governor Eric Greitens appointed Col. Karsten to the top post back in February being the first woman ever in state's history. On Tuesday, Governor Greitens provided special remarks, and Col. Karsten spoke to those attending the celebration.

“I am honored and humbled to take the Oath of Office as the 23rd superintendent of the Missouri State Highway Patrol,” said Colonel Karsten.

Col. Karsten has served 31 years with the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
