DZHEZKAZGAN, Kazakhstan -- NASA says Missouri astronaut Col. Mike Hopkins and two Russian cosmonauts have landed safely in Kazakhstan.

They returned in a Soyuz capsule following a nearly six-month (166 days) stay at the International Space Station.

During his stay aboard the orbital laboratory, Hopkins conducted a pair of U.S. spacewalks.

Hopkins is an Ozarks native, having grown up on a farm in Richland, Missouri and attending School of the Osage.

Three crew members remain at the ISS.
