This morning- investors get an update on the unemployment picture. The Labor Department released its September jobs report two and a half weeks late because of the government shutdown.

The last report showed the unemployment rate had fallen slightly to 7.3 percent.

Yesterday- the markets were mostly flat.
  •   The DOW lost 7 points.
  •   The NASDAQ gained 5 points.

Automaker Hyundai is recalling more than 27,000 Genesis luxury cars after the government opened an investigation into possible brake problems.

The recall includes the 2009 to 2012 model years.

Apple unveils its latest iPads in San Francisco today.

The company will likely roll out remodeled versions of its standard size and mini iPads.
Some analysts expect the new standard size iPad will be thinner and lighter.

A non-profit is helping to digitally preserve some of the world's best known monuments, ruins and statues.

The group called "Cyark" out of Oakland, California has already created digital copies of more than 100 sites and plans 400 more using 3D scanners, radar and other technology.
