SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The Marine Corps is collecting toys for it's Toys For Tots program again this Christmas and today, Marines get the chance to have a lot of fun - shopping for local kids.

It's a shopping spree made possible by a $12,000 donation from Youngblood-Nissan of Springfield.

Marines GySgt Joey M Davis tells KOLR10 News they are shopping Friday at Toys r Us and hope to stretch that $12,000 to buy 1,200 toys today.  The Toys For Tots goal is 50,000 toys this Christmas for children in Greene County.  Davis says they hope to collect 20,000 of those Friday and Saturday, and fill the showroom at Youngblood-Nissan with those donations.

If you are unable to get out to Youngblood-Nissan this weekend, you can donate a new, unwrapped toy at any of many Toys For Tots drop off points across the area, including the lobby at KOLR10, 2650 E. Division in Springfield (8a-5p, Mon-Fri),  Toys r Us and area Walgreens stores.

The deadline to donate is December 14.
