Man Trapped in Vehicle After Taney County Crash

TANEY COUNTY, Mo.-- According to Western Taney County Fire, crews were dispatched at approximately 10:20 a.m. July 13 to a motor vehicle accident on Highway 86 just west of Jones Road.

The accident occurred when Braden C. Kraichely, 16, of Ridgedale, was traveling westbound crossed the center line and struck a second vehicle driven by Michael B. Gibson, Jr., 29, of Blue Eye, head-on. 

Kraichely, the driver of a Ford Mustang, was trapped in the car with serious injuries.

It took firefighters from Western Taney County Fire using hydraulic rescue tools to free Kraichely from the vehicle.

He was air lifted to a Springfield hospital.

The Gibson, who was driving a blue Dodge truck, was transported to Cox South by ambulance with moderate injuries.

Highway 86 was closed for just under one hour.

Other agencies that responded were Taney County Ambulance, the Taney County Sheriff, Missouri State Highway Patrol, and Mercy Lifeline.
